You have gone looking for the research before. You needed to know something about how a horse actually moves, and either it was not there, or it was there and something in it did not sit right. Maybe you assumed the fault was yours — that you had not read enough, or had not understood it well enough. It probably was not. A researcher can only ask the questions their own eye has prepared them to find. So what happens to all the questions nobody was ever equipped to ask? And who is going to ask them?
