♔ The Kjrsos Experience ☯ When We First Meet
Once we accept the horse as a thinking feeling intelligent entity all on it own, we begin to understand how ridiculous it is to think that we should not develop some kind of relationship before we climb on top of their back. Thankfully for us, horses are innately kind and gentle creatures and seem to accept our antics. We think nothing of going to a trail riding place and climbing on top of someone who has no idea if they can trust us to make the right decisions. From leaping from horse to horse with the Pony Express, to jumping on a racehorse and asking them to run as fast they can, we expect that they will put up with anyone being on their back and will listen every time. We treat them more like robots then we do thinking, feeling creatures with thoughts, ideas and wants of their own. We devalue the thought of any kind of relationship with the horse. No wonder so many are so completely unaware of the breadth of intelligence that is the horse.
It is here before we mount that your first relationship is established. Long before you get on his back.
From the moment of your first approach to the first time you put a halter on his head, to the first time you put a saddle on his back. It matters not if this has been done to him a hundred, a thousand times before. This is the first time with you.
These first times define what comes next. Everything that you do now, transforms what comes next.
Every approach is the first. An opportunity to communicate perhaps in a way that you never have before.
