Kjrsos Copyright Information

We are here to serve.  We love when someone prints one of our articles and leaves it at the barn So that others can read it and maybe, just maybe get a different perspective on the work that they are doing with their horses.  We are looking forward to years and years serving you and trying to make as big of a difference as we can.  So, for the most part, we are happy to see you share what we have.

But we do have a few caveats.  One sometimes what we print is from someone else and while they gave us permission that doesn't mean that permission applies to someone else. Please feel free to contact us, if you are not sure.  Also if you are the one contributing maybe keep this in mind and let us know right away if this is only for Kjrsos or if others can share as well.

One thing to print out and leave something at the barn as if you were sharing a book or a magazine but another to put it online without permission. Especially when it comes to images and pictures and film so be careful and again feel free to contact us if you are not sure or would like special permission for something that will help promote this mission we are on together.

To be honest, though, we don't have the budget to hire a lawyer so we are not about to stop you but the least you can do is let people know where you got it from.  So label anything that you are about to share with the Kjrsos logo or website link.  Help us help others, so we can do the work that we are giving our lives to.

What is Creative Commons?

The Possibilities of Creative Commons

Creative Commons helps you to legally share your knowledge and creativity to build a more equitable, accessible, and innovative world. Unlocking the full potential of the internet towards driving a new era of development and growth.

With a network of staff, board, and affiliates around the world, Creative Commons provides free, easy-to-use copyright licenses to make a simple and standardized way to give the public permission to share and use your creative work–on conditions of your choice.

The potential of the internet is in the available knowledge available to anyone with an internet connection.  We highly recommend that your consider doing this with your resources.  We have a few resources available now and hope to add many more in the future.  Long term here at Kjrsos, we hope there is a day that we can share all that we have freely online all around the world. If you are interested in helping us toward that goal check out our Patron page.

Model Releases

Model Releases are an important part of the work that we do.  They are important ensuring that everyone understands that this material is going to be used and we have permission to use that material to share with other riders and equestrians to help with the work that they are doing and to help horses everywhere.

It is suggested that you use a new model release for every photo shoot. But that can be a bit much if you are posting regularly on the site.  If you are the one in the video or pictures if you prefer, you can use one model release.  Just include the date range when the images were taken and the file names of the images and video uploaded.

Property Releases are important as well.

Anyone that can be recognized in a picture or video needs to sign a model release.

The third release required is a release from the copyright holder to Kjrsos to allow us to post and use the material.

Model Releases are available for free here.

I know these can be a pain, but this ensures that the time and energy that we put into developing material will be here for others for years to come.  We appreciate your help with this.
